Abstract:
We consider an abstract mechanism-design model, where there an n types. The type-specific utility and balance are smooth functions of the observable effort and reward, respectively. We study first- and second-best solutions, especially local indeterminacy of redistributive second-best and the Pareto-inferiority of the neutral second-best.

Cím: Selfish Routing in Non-cooperative Networks
Abstract:
We study the problem of n users selfishly routing traffics through a shared network. Users route their traffics by choosing a path from their source to their destination of the traffic with the aim of minimizing their private latency. In such an environment Nash equilibria represents stable states of the system: no user can improve its private latency by unilaterally changing its strategy. We will discuss the Wardrop model and the KP model and show examples for both approach. We will also talk a little bit about the Braess paradox, which is a very popular and important problem of traffic routing.

Cím: Computational and game-theoretic aspects of mechanism design in matching markets
Abstract:
Coordinated matching schemes can be used in a wide range of social and economic situations to provide fair - or even ’optimal’ - solutions by taking account the preferences of the participants and some objective facts. Centralised mechanisms incorporating efficient algorithm have been established to allocate junior doctors to hospitals (in the US since 1952; in Japan, Scotland, etc), for student admissions in higher education (in Hungary, Spain, Turkey) and in secondary education (in New York, Boston, Hungary), in kidney exchange programs (US, UK, Netherlands, etc), and for internet auctions (e.g. Google). The successful design of these kind of schemes has to involve both game-theoretical and computational considerations. In this talk I will present some theoretical and practical findings, and future research plans, all closely related to the above applications.
