Short Bio

Zsombor Cseres-Gergely is Junior Research Fellow as well as the deputy professional director of the SROP-2.3.2 project at the Institute of Economics, a partner of the Budapest Institute for Policy Analysis and the Hungarian correspondent for the SYSDEM Network of the EU Employment Observatory. He started to work for the Institute as a research assistant in 1999 and has participated in research activities ever since. He has graduated from the Budapest University of Economics (now: Corvinus University) in 1999 with a MSc in finance and begun PhD/MPhil studies at the University College London in 2000. Moving back to Budapest in 2002, he continued his studies at CEU, Central European University until he defended his thesis in 2009. His thesis topic was the labour market acitvity at the beginning and the end of the active life-cycle, which he has analysed using empirical microeconometric methods. His research interests include labour market behaviour of older persons, household economics, joint consumption-labour supply choices and the economics of microdata access. He has participated in various international and national research projects.
