Tamás Solymosi graduated from the József Attila University, Szeged as a mathematician in 1984, and received his dr. univ. degree in Operations Research in 1990. He obtained his PhD in Game Theory from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1993. He has been working at the  Corvinus University of Budapest since 1995, currently as an associate professor. He joined the Game Theory research group in November 2013. His research areas are Cooperative Game Theory and its applications, and Operations Research, primarily networks. In these fields he was granted various research scholarships and has been the principal investigator in several research projects.
