László Paizs is a junior research fellow at the Institute of Economics of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences since 2001. He completed his Master studies in Economics at the Budapest University of Economic Sciences and at the Central European University. The topic of his Ph.D. thesis under preparation is the analysis of fuel tax competition between Western European countries. His research interest includes the regulation of energy supply industries and energy market modeling. Occasionally he does consulting work for the Hungarian Energy Office and the Hungarian Competition Authority. In 2004, he joined the Regional Centre for Energy Policy Research of the Corvinus University of Budapest.
