Short Bio
Péter Galasi graduated from the Corvinus University of Budapest (then Karl Marx University of Economics) in 1972 and received his Ph.D. in economics from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in 1983, he is also doctor habilitatus in economics at the CUB from 1995. Working at the Department of Human Resources, Faculty of Economics, Corvinus University of Budapest since 1975 he is at present professor of labour economics there. His research covers several fields of labour economics including: labour market dynamics, unemployment, returns to schooling. He acts as a participant or leader in several Hungarian and international research programs, and as a consultant to Hungarian ministries, government agencies, and several EU, ILO, OECD projects during recent years.
