Short Bio
András Bródy is an internationally renowed economist, a senior research advisor at IEHAS. He received his CSc and DSc degree in 1961 and 1969, respectively. He started to work at the Institute in 1955 in the field of mathematical theory of economic growth and economic cycles. He later became the head of department of Macroeconomic Theories and Models. He has conducted research and tought at numerous foreign universities (Harvard, Cambridge, U Lusaka, Delhi University, Nizza, LaTrobe, Hitotsubashi). Organizer of the International Input-Output Association, he is the founder of the journal Economic Systems Research. He is also a member of the Econometric Society. In 1997 he was honoured with the Széchenyi Award, and in 1999 he was awarded the Doctor Honoris Causa degree from the University of Public Administration and Finance.
